Information we collect
When you request a WiFi design, we may collect your name, email address, optional phone number, project details, building information, network requirements and the plans you choose to upload.
Building plans
Building plans can contain sensitive information. Uploaded plans are stored in private object storage and are used only to assess and prepare your requested WiFi deployment design. They are not intentionally published, indexed by search engines or made available through a public file directory.
Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe Checkout. DIY WiFi does not collect or store your full payment card details. Stripe processes payment information under its own privacy terms.
How information is used
- To create and deliver your WiFi deployment design.
- To contact you about project scope, clarification, delivery or revision.
- To verify payment and maintain project records.
- To protect the service from misuse and security threats.
Storage and retention
Uploaded plans and their associated project metadata are retained for no more than five days, then automatically deleted. This short retention window is intended to cover preparation and delivery of the requested design while limiting unnecessary storage.
Sharing
Information may be processed by service providers needed to run the service, such as Cloudflare for hosting and private storage and Stripe for payments. We do not sell building plans or project information.
Security
We use private storage, unpredictable object identifiers, access controls, one upload batch per project, strict file-size and type validation, and server-side checks. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your rights
You may ask what personal information DIY WiFi holds about you and request correction or deletion where applicable under New Zealand law.
